Within the company’s international growth program, the development of connectivity in the East-West axis advances today thanks to a ring that links Madrid with Sines, the two points of presence in Lisbon and then back to Madrid.
This configuration allows ESpanix members to connect from any of the new sites in Portugal, with the same levels of service quality and redundancy that ESpanix already offers in the six points of presence in Spain distributed between Barcelona and Madrid. It is a unique opportunity for any Portuguese networks that need to improve their connectivity with Spain.
Access to the main neutral node of the Iberian Peninsula, ESpanix Node, is available from the new locations, together with the other interconnection services of ESpanix. Among them, it is worth mentioning ESpanix Reach, which allows connections with all of Europe, and Espanix VLAN ideal for the creation of private links among ESpanix members.
The presence in Portugal brings ESpanix closer to the networks of central and southern America, such as Brazil, Mexico or Argentina, among others. In many of these countries it ultimately important to maintain direct and low latency connections with the over 180 networks that form ESpanix.
After the recent update of the members port speed to 400G, Espanix’s network infrastructure is ready to absorb any traffic that, due to cultural and linguistic proximity, can be exchanged between the two sides of the Atlantic, reducing the costs and canceling any delays, especially for real-time and voice applications.
